Capacity Building Workshops
We support children on the NDIS for development of daily care and life skills.
What does training and support for the development of daily care and life skills look like through The CHALK Crew program?
The work we do assists NDIS participants to build skills, language and experiences that will, in turn, help them to lead a more independent life.
In my capacity as "Other Professional", some more specific examples of the skills we work on using our creative arts approach are:
Planning and transactional skills for shopping, buying tickets, day trips, holidays etc.
Social skills, such as turn-taking, listening, focus and concentration skills to improve relationships and to boost engagement in social activities.
Short term, long-term and working memory skills for improved daily living and relationships.
Language to assist self-expression along with communication skills to process and define big emotions in consultation with your child’s Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and Positive Behaviour Support Specialist for improved relationship and social skills.
Confidence building and skills to boost engagement in social activities.
Routines for self-care for improved daily living and family relationships.
