We all have a story to tell.
Story-telling and books are at the core of the CHALK Crew. We aim to develop a passion for reading and self-expression through arts in a program that encourages creative and critical thinking skills. With our project-based approach, children play through the themes of the books we read.
The CHALK Philosophy
Introducing the Chalk Crew
Founder, Ceara McManus, is a story-teller, children’s entertainer, teacher and teacher trainer with 30 years’ experience.
Originally a drama, French and Italian teacher, she moved into English language teaching and taught in the UK, Italy, Serbia and Hong Kong teaching students from ages three to 88.
Ceara lives and breathes the CHALK philosophy, lecturing in reading in a second-language and training teachers in using a multi-arts approach to teaching language and building literacy skills.
