STRATEGIES IN LITERACY, ARTS AND EDUCATION
We all have a story to tell.
Story-telling and books are at the core of the CHALK Crew. We aim to develop a passion for reading and self-expression through arts in a program that encourages creative and critical thinking skills. With our project-based approach, children play through the themes of the books we read.
CHALK’s founder, Ceara, comes from a background in story-telling, teaching languages and drama and lecturing in reading and linguistics.
CHALK workshops are designed to develop communication, literacy and language skills. Whether in school or preparing for school, our one-to-one Capacity Building workshops can help children build language and find their voice through our creative arts approach.
The CHALK Crew runs Books Alive holiday workshops and book-inspired parties for children and adults. Workshops are also run in schools, building reading confidence and communication skills across all year levels.
Books Alive.
For kids who love to read, the Books Alive program offers birthday party adventures and school holiday fun! We use a book as our launch pad to head off on an artistic journey exploring the themes, sights, sounds and words in the book.
Capacity Building Workshops.
Working one-to-one with children, CHALK Workshops are designed from the core philosophy of the CHALK Crew. We aim to assist children in building language and communication skills through a creative arts program.
Teacher Development.
The CHALK Crew are passionate about literacy, communication and teacher development. Experienced teacher trainers in language teaching, reading and the creative arts, the CHALK Crew has a wide range of skills and strategies to share.
