STRATEGIES IN LITERACY, ARTS AND EDUCATION
We all have a story to tell.
Story-telling and books are at the core of the CHALK Crew. We aim to develop a passion for reading and self-expression through arts in a program that encourages creative and critical thinking skills. With our project-based approach, children play through the themes of the books we read.
CHALK’s founder, Ceara, comes from a background in story-telling, teaching languages and drama and lecturing in reading and linguistics.
CHALK workshops are designed to develop literacy and language skills. Whether in school or preparing for school, our one-to-one capacity building workshops are designed for learning through a creative arts approach. Workshops are also run in schools, building reading confidence and communication skills across all year levels.
The CHALK Crew runs holiday workshops and book-inspired parties for children and adults.
Books Alive.
For kids who love to read, the Books Alive program offers birthday party adventures and school holiday fun! We use a book as our launch pad to head off on an artistic journey exploring the themes, sights, sounds and words in the book.
Capacity Building Workshops.
Working one-to-one with children, CHALK Workshops are designed from the core philosophy of the CHALK Crew. We aim to develop literacy and language skills through a creative arts program.
Teacher Development.
The CHALK Crew are passionate about literacy, communication and teacher development. Experienced teacher trainers in reading and the creative arts, the CHALK Crew has a wide range of skills and strategies to share.
